WWI sniper with tree camouflage… (Trench warfare was very static but it didn’t prevent snipers from taking advantage of the situation. Disguised as a blown up and shot up tree trunk, German and British snipers would hide inside and take shots at any enemy they could see. Supposedly there was one Germany trick where they would deploy a kite with English words on it. This would cause British troops to stand up and look at it in an attempt to read a possible surrender message…only to end up being sniped.)
That’s one freaky image. I’m having flashbacks to H. R. Pufnstuf.
