Russian 7n1

This is a great image that explains this rather rare Russian sniper ammo. 7n1 looks like any other 7.62x54R round but you’ll notice that there is a space/hollow area behind the tip. There is a lead knocker behind that upon impact on a human target, the knocker pushes forward, destabilizing the bullet. What this does is increase the tumbling effect causing severe trauma and damage rather than simply going right through a target. 7n1 is no longer imported into the U.S when the Russians decided to keep their best ammo off the surplus market. 7n14 is the new version with armor piercing capability.
