Assault Bicycle? A interesting photo of an StG 44 mounted to a bicycle. Since the rifle appeared so late in the war, fuel reserves for the Nazi war machine were already drying up. I suppose having a well-armed messenger or scout increased his survival enough to make it from point A to point B. Also, chances are any Allied aircraft would be less likely to bomb someone on a bicycle than they would a vehicle.
