Iraq Sith Lord
Saddam Hussein’s Iraqi Fedayeen had a very interesting helmet. It would later be known as the “Darth Vader Helmet” due to it’s strong resemblance to the Star Wars character’s own headgear. A few were brought back to the U.S as trophies and are considered one of the more sought after Iraqi collectables. There is some conflicting history as to why the helmet looks like that. One military article suggested that the design was based on pre-WWII German helmets. The more popular theory suggests that Saddam’s son Uday, who was a Star Wars fan designed the helmet to mimic Vader’s for fear and intimidation purposes.
