Halloween in Liberia…

No, not really. I think this might be a still frame shot from a movie about that conflict, I forgot the name of it. You can see the infamous “Gun Fairy” in the background. Huge array of AK’s, with a single RPG-7 to add to the insurgent/militia flair. The reason the Liberians wore bizarre and absurd costumes during the war was out of superstition. They believed Death would not be able to recognize them on the battlefield if they wore costumes, thus a psychological belief in invincibility…but also psychological warfare and intimidation.
