Random rounds…

Late installment of my personal postings regarding different topics, gun related or not. I’ve put this one off for a while, and it might be a very long post. Read or skip if you want, I don’t care, this more or less jotting down my cluttered brain at the moment.

I haven’t posted as much lately, which I apologize for. Like the last installment, most of my time is preoccupied with homework, work, sorting out the DShK and shipping it, and Halloween. I think I’ll start there after some Tumblr updates.

So far the recent theme change has been fairly positive in terms of feedback. I did reduce as much of the extra features as possible to cut the lag that a few people mentioned.

I do post a few times from my iPhone which is a pain in the ass but if I have no laptop or desktop near by, what can ya do. Also, much thanks and welcome to new followers, I hit the 3,000+ mark a few days ago.

I have about 15 credits left before I graduate, which I’m looking forward too but also dreading having to pay off my student loans. I’m a horrible procrastinator when it comes to homework, especially if it doesn’t “interest” me. Not saying I’m bored with my classes, it’s just that they’re requirements. I love open-ended projects with few constraints, where I can pick a subject or topic and just go at it.

Work has been slow, but I can’t complain too much, better than not working. Really happy I don’t have morning shifts anymore, but it feels weird going to work in the afternoon. My new coworkers haven’t gotten used to my EDC (everyday carry) knife, a Cold Steel Rajah II.

Ah yes, my DShK. I first posted about the thing back in February when my friend suggested he’d sell it since his local range banned .50 caliber firearms. It’s been a long road with a lot of set-backs, all due on my part. I spent some saved funds to buy guns for my birthday, resigned from work, found work etc. I suppose the timing couldn’t be better with the holidays coming around. Can you tell I’m single? Yeah…spending close to $10,000 on a belt-fed .50 cal as Christmas present to myself.

I love Halloween as I stated in my previous installment. Last year I did a typical butcher costume, except I used real pig’s blood to stain the apron. It was kind of like demented finger painting, dipping my whole hand in a bucket of blood and just smearing it all over the white cloth. I went to work wearing that but I also had an attache case. My old boss gave me weird looks when she had to open the case for bag inspection, something we did at the end of every shift.

Inside my attache case…handcuffs, duct tape, bonesaws, a heavy tarp, garbage bags and syringes. I told her it was part of the costume and I that was going to a Halloween party.

I wanted to try and make a mask out of pig skin but I jokingly asked my cousin who works at the morgue if she had human flesh I could use. Predictably she yelled at me and said I should stop being the psychopath in the family. I’m just going for authenticity! I doubt I’ll have anything as gory this time around. Getting a new job on such short notice didn’t leave me much room in terms of having Halloween funds to make or buy a costume. I’ll probably still dress up as something. Am I too old for Halloween? Fuck no.

If you hung out with me in real life, you’d probably say I’m shy, quiet, reserved and awkward. That’s fine, cause that’s exactly how I want you to think I am.
