Not sure what you mean by “that mount isn’t designed for the FAL”. If you look at the design, it seems to be a STANAG mount but with rings attached. These were military issued, not a cheap adapted home made build. Problem is there were a lot of cheap knockoffs made during the 80’s and 90’s, so it’s hard to tell if it’s a copy or an original.

You can see the three hole where it is attached to the FAL top cover.
