Extra mag; useful or useless?

Regarding the “U.S Tactical Supply Backup-20” post…
I wouldn’t necessarily consider it a waste of time or money. It’s a discrete and practical way to hold one spare magazine without having to dress up in full gear. As cool as it looks in photos, movies and video games, a vast majority of regular AR owners are not going to be be wearing a tactical vest with MOLLE straps, mag pouches, harnesses etc. When people overdo it…yeah…they overdo it.
For a law enforcement officer and his patrol rifle, it’s a nice handy accessory to have a spare magazine in a stock. For a farmer/rancher who isn’t going to wear a tactical vest or keep loaded magazines stuffed in his backpocket or belt, this again is a nice convenient way to carry a spare magazine.
It’s not even the first time a rifle has done this. Kel-Tec’s SU-16 rifles can hold spare AR magazines in the stock. On a more expensive scale, the AMP DSR-1 uses a spare mag at the front of the stock.
To some people the Backup-20 stock may not be their idea of a good product but to others it has a practical use.
