A German reenactor with an interesting bit of weaponry. He has a bundled M24 Stick Grenade, also nicknamed the “Potato Masher”. The wooden handle acted as leverage to toss the grenade with a bit more accuracy and less chance of it rolling off target.
To increase the explosive damage, a single M24 would sometimes get bundled with 6 more grenades; their wooden handles unscrewed and removed. Basically you had a grenade bouquet, something you don’t want to catch . Supposedly they weren’t used against enemy troops too often; rather the bundle of bombs was for demolition, soft armor targets and disabling tank tracks.
