The name of the sporting model of the SVD Dragunov, the Tigr, has a much shorter barrel, lack of a flash hider, no adjustable gas system and a different style of stock and handguard (also in the photo). Note that the actual SVD stock is missing it’s butt plate. It’s got the older but more common style bipod as well.
This particular example sold on auction today for $4,000. Back in 2007, the average price of a Tigr was around $2,500. This kind of explains why the Romanian PSL is called the “Poorman’s Dragunov”; for the most part the Tigr is out of the price range for most average gun owners.
