Mosins & Monsters
Not my usual kind of post but I thought it was interesting. Ever heard of the saying “If only this gun could talk, the stories it would tell.”? Although Bigfoot is usually associated with the U.S, the Russians have had their own encounters, but with more success per say.
In 1925 a Soviet Army unit led an assault on a cave believed to be hideout for anti-Soviet guerrilla forces. Upon firing into the cave a hairy creature ran out screaming before dying of its wounds. Entering the cave, they found another dead hairy creature. (Source)
In 1941, during the German assault on the Soviet Union, an odd “spy” was captured. An officer inspecting the “spy” found it to be a naked, hairy creature who did not speak but was human in resemblance. Supposedly the unknown humanoid creature was executed and buried. (Source)
Many believe the creatures that were killed were the local versions of Bigfoot, known as the Almas. Whether or not these reports are true are up for speculation and debate considering they took place during tumultuous times of war. Maybe someone’s got an old Mosin that may have killed a Russian Bigfoot.
