Smoke break… There is an old military superstition that originates from World War I regarding smoking. It’s considered bad luck to light 3 cigarettes with the same match. During the stagnant trench warfare, legend has it a German sniper noticed a small flame in the distance, recognizing it as soldier lighting a cigarette. The soldier passed the match to another soldier, which gave the German sniper time to shoulder his rifle. When the match made its way to the third soldier, the moment he brought the flame up to his cigarette and illuminated his face, the sniper fired, killing the third soldier.
