Pink
Is there anything wrong with pink colored guns? No, but there are those (mostly guys) who complain about it. Magpul even has pink colored versions of some of their AR-15 parts, so they know what sells and that women are one of the most important new groups of potential customers.
If someone wants to add pink parts to their gun to make it cute, let them. It’s the same reasoning some guys refinish their guns in multicam or whatever finish they think is badass to them.
Grandmothers & Granddaughters

The current generation of IDF women are armed with a cadre of different firearms depending on their unit. Although they are commonly seen with U.S supplied M16 and M4 rifles, some units are fielding the new Tavor bullpup. One generation to another.

Israeli purchased a huge amount of the surplus Mauser rifles from Germany after World War II as a quick and cheap way to arm as many of it’s citizens when hostile nations came knocking. It’s one of history’s greatest examples of irony. The Israeli’s successfully defended their nation with the help of rifles made by a regime that was intent on wiping them out.
Recruitment or Required? Leya Ghebremedht and Maria Pia Mostad are Norwegian soldiers who voluntarily joined the military. A sweeping change in Norway may require mandatory military service for women in 2015. There seems to be opposition to the change, as 52% of Norwegian women disagree with the mandatory military service. Source

Rebels
A group of Kurdish rebel fighters, mostly women, take part in their daily exercises and drills, as well as downtime. There are men in this rather large group but they are outnumbered by the women.
24 Hours…
A group of female reporters spend 24 hours as new recruits in the Moldovan military. The nation of Moldova is located between Romania and the Ukraine.
Patricia Hearst
The daughter of the late newspaper tycoon Randolph Hearst, she gained national media attention in the 70’s after being kidnapped by the Symbionese Liberation Army. She would later commit crimes with her captors, leading many to believe she was a victim of Stockholm Syndrome. Eventually she would be captured and put on trial. Later in life she was given a presidential pardon by Bill Clinton at the end of his last term.
In a rather iconic image, she is seen posing with a cut-down M1 Carbine with a rather large scope. LAPD still has it in their possession, minus the scope. Note the under-folding stock. It bears a heavy resemblance to the AK style but these were made specifically for the M1 Carbine by a U.S company for a short period of time.
Stagecoach Mary Her real name was Mary Fields, a rather iconic woman in U.S history. She was very proficient with firearms and towered over most men; standing around 6ft tall. The rifle in the photo is a Winchester 1876 Carbine, a firearm that even U.S President Theodore Roosevelt used on occasion. In spite being born a slave during the Civil War, she eventually became the 2nd woman and 1st African American to work for the United States Postal Service. She got the nickname Stagecoach because she never missed a mail delivery and would carry the bags of mail over her shoulder even in deep snow just to make sure they arrived.
ALCALDE, N.M. (AP) — A 35-year-old woman says she shot and killed a man after he allegedly barged into her Alcalde home and tried to undress her at knife point.
The Santa Fe New Mexican reports that search warrant affidavits say the shooting Saturday occurred when 33-year-old Taos resident Lawrence Sandoval forced his way into the woman’s home. She told deputies that she believed he followed her home from a gas station.
According to deputies, the woman says Sandoval grabbed a knife, put the knife to her chin and told her to take off her clothes. The woman told deputies she then reached under her pillow, grabbed a loaded gun and shot him. She fled from her home and called 911.
Officials say Sandoval died at the scene.
No charges have been filed.
Lisa Goude called police when she noticed a man lurking outside her house at about 1:15 a.m. Just two minutes into the call, the man broke through the glass of a kitchen window and entered the home. The 28-year-old intruder refused to leave and attempted to enter Goude’s bedroom. Goude retrieved a handgun and shot the man once before instructing him to leave her home once again. Despite suffering a gunshot wound, the intruder reportedly came at Goude causing her to fire two more rounds. After suffering two gunshots to the neck and one to the abdomen, the intruder was pronounced dead at the scene. (The Gaston Gazette, Gastonia, NC, 8/10/12)

Burka cops V… Iraqi policewomen at the range training with Glocks. Though they are dressed in traditional Muslim women garbs, they do use a normal police uniform unlike their Iranian counterparts. Traditional headscarves are still kept on though while in police uniform.
